The #LemonWaterClub

We often want to go big or go home when we want to get healthier, but it’s really the small habits we incorporate into our lives that make a BIG difference.
I have honestly heard and read ‘Start your day off with a cup of warm lemon water’ so many times before. I have no idea why I never started until now. I am proud to say that I have officially joined what I like to call “The Lemon Water Club”.
2019 was the year I started incorporating this little health habit into my daily routine.
What I have noticed about myself is that if I get convinced about something, I just go for it.
Early in the year, I downloaded a free eBook by Elizabeth Rider that had 30 recipes every woman should know. A section in the book listed the benefit of lemon water – I was convinced so I have started to drink a cup of lemon water in the morning before I have breakfast and let’s just say I’ve never looked back since.
Amongst other things, lemon water is good for your digestive system. Since lemons are packed with Vitamin C and other nutrients like potassium and folate, lemon water helps boost your immune system and makes your skin glow from the inside out.
Lemon water also helps to keep the body hydrated as it provides electrolytes to the body.
I have honestly also just grown to love the taste and believe it’s a great way to start the day – it immediately sets the tone for good eating habits for the rest of the day.

-Squeeze half a fresh lemon into a cup
-Fill up the cup with hot/warm, not boiling water (Allow the kettle to sit for a few minutes after it has finished boiling)
-Sip away at the lemon water on an empty stomach
